My name is Rachel Smith. I'm 23, a Washington (state) native and a California resident. I'm graduating at the end of May from Whitman College with a BA in Bioethics. I receieved a Watson fellowship to study wildland fire management policies around the world next year starting around the 15th of August, 2003. I started volunteering for the Tulalip Bay Fire Department #15 the day I turned 18. I got my EMT, and worked as a Firefighter/EMT until I graduated from Everett Community College. I spent a summer working for the USFS Union Hotshots in La Grande, OR, and then in between college I worked as a Smokejumper for the USFS Redding Smokejumpers in Redding, CA.

I want to be President when I grow up. Or maybe a doctor. Or maybe I'd like to pursue a masters in bioethics in Rome. But I definately want to keep writing.

Check out some of my stories, or read my thesis, or look at some of my artwork.
